Cricket’s gentleman David Gower to talk about his career in cricket, England’s world cup win and their chances in this summer’s Ashes - 12 August 

The former England captain and cricket’s gentleman David Gower OBE will talk about his 14 year careerat the top of the game, England’s stunning victory in the World Cup and their chances in this summer’s Ashes – Monday 12th August at the Bluebird in London.

Described as one of the most stylish left-handed batsmen ever, David played in 117 Test Matches and 114 One Day International’s (ODIs) in an international career spanning 14 years, including leading England to victory in the 1985 Ashes. He scored over 26,000 runs in first-class cricket, including 8,231 in test matches and 3170 in ODIs.  His 119 consecutive innings, without a duck is still a record today.   

Following his retirement from the sport, David became one of the cricket’s most highly respected and popular commentators on Sky Sports and in 2009 he was inducted into the IIC Cricket Hall of Fame.  

David will be joined by former England and Kent cricketer Chris Cowdrey who will compere the evening.

Following the talk, there will be an opportunity for questions and photos with David and Chris.

Timings: 6.00pm Networking, canapes and welcome drink. The talk will start at 6.45pm followed by questions.
