 Eccentric, brilliant and a ‘natural gloveman’, former England wicket-keeper Alan Knott to talk to CowCorner Events – 10 March 

Former England wicket-keeper, who has been described as eccentric, brilliant and a natural gloveman, Alan Knott MBE to talk to CowCorner Events – Tuesday 10th March at Smith and Wollensky in London.

Alan represented England in 95 Tests from 1967 – 1981 and 14 ODI’s, was known for his economical movements, tremendous powers of concentration and always playing with his collar turned up and sleeves rolled down. Described by Simon Wilde as England’s great wicket-keeper, the keeping maestro was inducted into the ICC Hall of Fame in 2009 and selected by Wisden and the ECB in their all-time ‘Test World XI’ marking England’s 1000th Test Match in 2018.

Alongside his incredible wicket-keeping, Alan was known for his gritty batting style, clocking up over 4,500 runs for England and 18,105 first-class runs.     

He was appointed a Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) in the 2020 New Year Honours for services to cricket.

Alan will be joined by former England Captain and Kent cricketer Chris Cowdrey who will compere the evening.

Following the talk, there will be an opportunity for questions and photos with Sean and Chris.

Date: Tuesday 10th March 2020

Timings: 6.00 pm Networking, canapes and welcome drink. The talk will start at 6.45 pm followed by questions.
